Stranger Things: The Game is set in 1984, in the American town of Hawkins, known form the series. Several of the local children go missing. At first, you play as Sheriff Jim Hopper and your task is to find them, but it turns out that the children's disappearance is just the beginning of a much bigger adventure.
Stranger Things: The Game for AND and iOS is an action-adventure game featuring other genre elements. Some part of the production require dexterity, such as when you have to fight enemies or run away from a car chasing you. In other segments you have to avoid the guards coming the area, which resembles a simplified stealth game. Sometimes you also have to gather items and solve puzzles. During the game, you find waffles and garden gnomes, which allow you to unlock new elements. Stranger Things: The Game features several playable characters, and depending on the level, you play as Hopper, Lucas or Nancy. Every character has their own unique abilities, which makes the gameplay more attractive.
The visuals of Stranger Things: The Game were inspired by old console games, which not only adds some charm to the game, but also fits the atmosphere the series, which heavily utilizes the style of the 1980s productions.
