Sudden Strike 2 is a continuation of the real-time war strategy issued in 2000. Developers from the Fireglow studio remained faithful to the realities of World War II, however, expanding the area of activity by Asia and the Pacific as well. Players can command the forces of the USSR, USA, Great Britain, Third Reich and Japan. Compared to the original, the sequel is characterized by a higher number of units and better visual setting.

Sequel real-time strategy Sudden Strike. Sudden Strike 2 still takes place during World War II, but this time both in Europe ( vs. Allies) as well as in the Pacific and Asia (Japan vs. Allies). Due to the transfer of action to new territories and the introduction of new parties to the conflict (now there are five, in addition to the Russians, Englishmen, Germans and Americans, the number of units has increased by forty, including even kamikaze pilots. All the graphics have been more elaborated, but it is still an isometric projection known from the first part. Naturally, the authors of the game recreated the flora and fauna typical for Asia and small Pacific islands.

In Sudden Strike 2 under the player's control there are not only land troops, but also surface units, warships, etc. In the Sudden Strike 2, the player is controlled not only by land troops, but also by naval units, warships, etc. All combat units, vehicles and even tanks can be seized by the enemy and successfully used in combat. Soldiers have been equipped with a "morale" factor, which affects their effectiveness and the course of the fight. Moreover, in the second part of the game, the experience has a much greater impact on the game than before - for example, a tank can only be driven by a soldier with experience above 500 (on a scale from 0 to 1000). Now the anti-personnel cannon will do practically nothing to a heavy tank, the infantry moving behind the tank does not die from a rifle fire in front of the tank, and snipers do not mindlessly shoot at tanks. Airplanes do not appear from nowhere (from behind the board) but take off and land at airports. Of course, all campaigns are based on historical battles and events from the Second World War.
