Surviving Mars: Pioneer is a survival game, serving as a spin-off of Surviving Mars released in 2018. The game was developed by the Danish studio Bolverk Games, and was created with virtual reality headsets in mind.

Gameplay

In Surviving Mars: Pioneer we become the first colonists to set foot on the Red Planet. Watching the action from a first-person perspective (FPP), as the titular pioneers, we must not only survive, but also establish a permanent foothold on this inhospitable globe.

Gathering resources, crafting and building

To achieve this, it is necessary to explore the surface of Mars in search of resources, which we then use in the crafting system. The game allows us to create various items and tools, as well as construct objects, and in the later stages of the game - to implement more advanced projects. We can rely on jetpacks (allowing access to high-altitude places) or rovers (allowing to venture further away from the base).
