Mechanics

Surviving the Abyss is a strategy game in which we are in charge of managing an underwater base. We have to expand it with new structures, acquire resources and take care of the crew subordinate to us.

The player must plan the development of the base, construct new segments and create the infrastructure ing all this, including tunnels and cables supplying electricity. The ocean floor is heavily varied, making expansion difficult and often forcing the player to erect new sections of the base vertically.

Crew management is also a key element. We have to organize their work, which includes acquiring raw materials and materials, conducting biological experiments and improving technology. On top of that, all subordinates have their own needs, which we have to satisfy. Working in the deep sea is stressful, and if we don't take care of our employees' mental health, they may even go insane.

We can also organize long-distance expeditions in submarines to reach rare resources. The gameplay is enriched by a system of random events, forcing players to react quickly to crisis situations.

The game is varied by the presence of supernatural forces near the base. They are afraid of light, so the key role is to expand the lighting systems and take care of their good technical condition, since any failure can end with the destruction of a section of the base and the devouring of part of the crew.
