An arcade adventure game about traversing a sand-covered land. Our main means of transportation in Sword of the Sea is the Hoversword, letting us reach high speeds and jump far.
Sword of the Sea is an arcade adventure game about traversing a beautiful desolate kingdom. It was developed by Giant Squid, also responsible for The Pathless.
Sword of the Sea is set in the Necropolis of the Gods, a remnant of a once-great kingdom. We play as Wraith, resurrected to traverse the desolate world and restore life to it.
Sword of the Sea makes use of the third-person perspective (TPP). The adventure takes place in a series of vast, picturesque deserts and ruins. They're no ordinary deserts though, as their sand behaves just like water, constantly flowing and rippling, forming huge moving dunes. Its resemblance to the ocean is not coincidental, as restoring life to the area covers it with water and fills it with marine creatures. One must be on guard, however, as our actions are at odds with the leviathans - mighty beings opposing us on our quest.
Our primary means of transportation is the Hoversword, a device resembling a hybrid of a snowboard, skateboard and hoverboard. Our playable character is very skilled with it too; gaining speed when moving down, using the dunes as ramps and performing tricks in the air. Fittingly, visited ruins resemble elaborate antique skateparks.
Sword of the Sea makes use of an appealing, cartoonish artstyle, just like other games from Giant Squid.
