Szybowcowa '87 is a free educational VR adventure game, created with the help of the Polish Institute of National Remembrance. It transports the player to an apartment, which, during the time of communist reign in Poland, housed a secret printing house of Fighting Solidarity.
Szybowcowa '87 is a free-to-play educational VR adventure game. It was developed by the Warsaw-based studio Pictureworks and financed by the Polish Institute of National Remembrance.
The game is set in the 1980s. It takes place in an apartment located in a communist-era apartment block in Wroclaw's Gadów district, which housed a secret printing house of Fighting Solidarity.
Szybowcowa '87 is a first-person adventure game. The player can explore the apartment, read documents based on those kept by the Institute of National Remembrance and print copies of pro-independence publications.
They can also listen to intercepted communications of Public Security and watch the regime's newscast, interrupted by the of Fighting Solidarity.
The game is purely educational. It doesn't feature any obstacles to overcome. The project's purpose is to recreate a piece of Polish history and teach it to the player.
The game can only be played in singleplayer.
Szybowcowa '87 is only playable in VR. It features high-quality 3D visuals which replicate the apartment on the titular street in faithful detail.
