The fourth installment of the long running tennis simulation series, started back in 1996. Tennis Elbow 4 was created by indie studio Mana Games. The game is intended both for series veterans, as well as newcomers, offering many different difficulty settings. One of the unique features is that the game is very mod friendly.
Tennis Elbow 4 is the fourth main installment of the sports game series with a simulation twist, dedicated to tennis. The series started back in 1996. The development of this game was handled by the independent French development studio Mana Games, whose portfolio includes the previous part of the series - Tennis Elbow 2013, two spin-offs (Tennis Elbow Manager and Tennis Elbow Manager 2), as well as The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians from a completely different genre.
Tennis Elbow does not have a license to use real names or tournaments, but the game offers us access to over 400 competitions and 3500 players, allowing us to play 1973-2042 seasons. During the game, we participate in both singles and doubles matches, from junior events to "pro" level events.
Mana Games studio made an effort to make its game accessible for beginners, while also offering the most realistic gameplay possible. We have a range of difficulty levels, each with its own sub-levels. Battle-hardened players must demonstrate tactical thinking, reflexes, perceptiveness, and the ability to guess the trajectory of the ball. Beginner tennis players, on the other hand, can take advantage of a system of visual cues, which for example help in positioning the player or aiming.
We can hit the ball (its physics have been significantly redesigned) in various ways, depending on needs and skills. The icing on the cake is the various surfaces on courts scattered all over the world, each characterized by a specific bounce. Surfaces include clay, grass, synthetic or indoor courts.
We can play Tennis Elbow 4 alone or in multiplayer mode - online, on a local network, or on a shared screen.
Tennis Elbow 4 is a mod-friendly game, allowing players to enrich it with their own content.
The matches in Tennis Elbow 4 are continuously commented on by Darren Kilfara - a former Tennis TV commentator.
