A first-person action-adventure game created by nDreams (a British developer), specifically for VR sets. The game is set in a secret research laboratory located somewhere in the deserts of Nevada. Here, far away from civilization, incredible government experiments are conducted by the titular organization that gathers scientists who tend to choose progress over ethics.
The Assembly is an action-adventure game created specifically for PCs and Virtual Reality sets, such as Oculus Rift or HTC Vive (Steam VR). The game was developed by nDreams – a British studio established by Patrick O'Luanaigh, who worked in Eidos prior to that. The story of The Assembly was written by Rob Morgan (Wonderbook: Book of Spells) and Tom Jubert (FTL: Faster Than Light, Penumbra, The Swapper).
The Assembly for PS4 and PC is set in a secret research laboratory located somewhere in the deserts of Nevada. Away from civilization and official information shared by the government, incredible experiments are conducted here. The titular organization gathers experienced scientists, though they are lacking the sense of morality. In their opinion, morality is an obstacle standing in the way of progress. Thus the of the Assembly have many dark secrets and are capable of sacrificing whatever it takes to complete the research.
When the scientists lose control over a deadly virus, the organization is no longer a stable structure. The story here is told through presenting two, independent viewpoints. Cal Pearson and Madelaine Stone (the main characters) have different rules and motivations in their lives. Not only further research is at stake however, for decisions made throughout the game affect both the lives of the main characters and the fate of the entire humanity.
The Assembly for PS4 and PC is an action-adventure game played from a first-person view – it should not come as a surprise, because the game s VR goggles. Among other games making use of Virtual Reality, The Assembly stands out with its high-quality visuals, utilizing the advanced Unreal Engine 4.
