Release Date: July 28, 2009
King of Fighters XII is the next installment of the popular two-dimensional fighting series. This part offers, first of all, a significantly improved visual setting and standard elements - five-second fights in the 3-na-3 system.
The King of Fighters XII is the next installment of a popular fighting games series. The King of Fighters XII was released on the 15th anniversary of the series and can be seen as its artistic and spiritual rebirth.
The game mechanics are a standard known from the previous installments - players have the opportunity to take part in 5-round fights 5 using a 3-vs-3 system. The game uses a 2D technique - all backgrounds have been presented in great detail, but it should be mentioned that they are hand-drawn. What is new, however, is the graphic design of the contestants, who were presented in high resolution and with smooth animations.
The King of Fighters XII offers 22 playable characters - this is the smallest number of players in the history of the whole series, but this is the price the graphic designers had to pay to refine the aforementioned elements - there was simply not enough time to add more heroes. The game does not have a story as such, but instead, its creators focused on delivering a product that they define as the best fighting game created in 2D technology.
The game offers gameplay for a single player as well as the possibility of multi-player struggles.
