A first-person RPG, in which we play as a martial arts student traversing the world in search of new techniques. The Swordsmen X: Survival combines action with survival - resource gathering, crafting and building shelters is an important part of the game.
The Swordsmen X: Survival is a third-person open-world RPG, ing both singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay. It was developed by Dream Game, combining dynamic combat with survival elements.
The Swordsmen X: Survival puts us in the shoes of a martial arts student aspiring to become a master. To do so, he sets out on a journey to learn over 200 authentic martial arts techniques. These can be applied in battle or used to create our own martial arts. The player can wield a wide range of weaponry, including bows, swords, sabers, lances and daggers.
The game's vast world covers the surface of around 256 square kilometers and can be freely explored on foot or horseback. The map is divided into regions with different atmospheric conditions, with our chances of survival depending on visited locations (such as towns, villages, fortresses, tropical forests, mountains, etc.) and the availability of resources. Before setting out, iwe must acquire materials and prepare clothing appropriate to the weather and temperature. We can also hunt, cook, craft and forge various items.
The game allows us to build our own home, furnish it with furniture, useful tools and decor. It's important to choose a strategic location to make protecting our possessions easier. We can also set up traps for aggressive animals and thieves.
The developers of The Swordsmen X: Survival invited professional martial arts instructors to faithfully transfer different real-life techniques into the game using motion capture. The process took six months.
The game runs on the Unreal 4 engine.
Two days before the game's release, its Steam page was updated - one of the publishers (Yooreka Studio) disappeared from the page alongside all information regarding the English localization, causing a lot of controversy among those anticipating the release of The Swordsmen X: Survival.
