A survival strategy game with roguelike elements. The Tribe Must Survive is set in the Stone Age world inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's novels. We are taking care of a primitive tribe. Its have their own will and we can't control them, but they can be "manipulated" by us.
The Tribe Must Survive is a project combining economic strategies, survival games and roguelike titles. The game was developed by the independent German studio Walking Tree Games and is their debut project.
The Tribe Must Survive takes us to an alternative version of the Stone Age, inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. During the game, we take control of a primitive tribe, and our task is to ensure its development and the safety of its .
In The Tribe Must Survive, we watch the action in an isometric view. The game does not allow us to directly control tribe . Instead, we can indirectly influence their behavior using various rituals, constructing certain buildings, and implementing various improvements.
The matter is complicated by the fact that each of the tribe has their own personality, desires and needs that need to be taken care of. It's not easy, because there are never too many resources. To make matters worse, the tribe's camp is surrounded by darkness, in which dark forces lurk. When a tribe starts facing difficulties, internal conflicts can easily erupt. If we fail, we can lead to the decimation of the tribe or even its complete annihilation. Then we will have no choice but to start the game from the beginning.
All this means that while playing, we have to make sure that the fire that illuminates the darkness is constantly burning. Moreover, resources must be managed wisely, trying to maintain a balance between current needs and development. Caution should be exercised when responding to random events, as well as when sending tribe on expeditions. Participating in expeditions is necessary to explore the immediate surroundings (and for example, to discover rich sources of raw materials), but they can end tragically for the tribe .
