Tiny Metal for PC, SWITCH and PS4 is a turn-based military strategy game by a Japanese studio Area 34. The game was inspired by classic Japanese productions of the genre, such as the Advance Wars series.
You play as Lieutenant Nathan Gries, an officer of the army of Artemisia, a fictional peaceful country. The Artemisians, however, are forced to fight a war against the cunning and evil nation of Zipang. The singleplayer story campaign in Tiny Metal takes about 8-10 hours to finish.
Tiny Metal is a turn-based strategy game. You assume the control over many units with their own stats, and attack the enemy, taking advantage of the terrain. There are thirteen unique units (you can learn more about them in the in-game Metalpedia). The gameplay is also affected by the so-called fog of war, which covers a part of the map until your forces venture there and dispel it.
The game also features a skirmish mode and a level editor.
The orchestral soundtrack of the game was composed by Tomoki Miyoshi, known from such productions as I Am Setsuna.

Game Ratings for Tiny Metal Video Game.
TheSixthAxis: 6 / 10 by Dominic Leighton
Tiny Metal is a great attempt at reviving the Advance Wars style of approachable military strategy for modern audiences, but while it certainly looks and behaves the part, the poorly balanced campaign and uninspired narrative only serve to emphasise just how special those classic games were.
Destructoid: 5 / 10 by Darren Nakamura
No, Tiny Metal is no substitute for Advance Wars. It does a lot of cool things, and it absolutely satisfies the same craving. But as much as I loved it at times, I hated it at others. It allows for pure turn-based strategy bliss, but there's a lot of garbage to sift through in order to get to it.
GameSkinny: 7 / 10 by Ty Arthur
It's Advance Wars for a new generation as Japanese anime characters collide with adorable 3D units for turn-based combat.
