Tokyo Xanadu for PC, PS4 and PSV is a Japanese action role-playing game. It was developed by Nihon Falcom, known for such series as The Legend of Heroes.
The game is set in modern times in Morimiya, a fictional district of the city of Tokyo, based on the real-life Trochikawa region, where he headquarters of Nihon Falcom is located.
The protagonist is a 17-years old high-schooler named Kou Tokisaka. Returning from a part-time job one night, he witnesses a group of young criminals being massacred by a monster. Moments later the beast is defeated by a young girl, who turns out to be Kou's class representative. Thus Kou becomes involved in the fight between humanity and creatures from a parallel world.
Tokyo Xanadu for PC, PS4 and PSV is an RPG with two gameplay modes, their differences being based on where our party is currently located. In the humans' world, you mostly take care of the character's daily life. You go to school, manage their reputation, go shopping and do other rather mundane things.
However, you regularly find yourself in the monsters' realm as well. Here the gameplay is filled with more action. You mostly fight your foes using a strongly arcade-like combat system. You can use a variety of attacks, combine them and use many special abilities. You can only control one character at a time, while the rest of the team remains hidden and idle, but you can switch them at any time. It is quite important, as every member of your party has different weaponry, abilities, and special attacks.
Both worlds are connected to each other. The successes and failures in one world affect the abilities of the characters in the other one, thus also affecting their combat potential. Conversely, successfully completing missions in the monsters' realm positively affects the situation in Morimiya.

Game Ratings for Tokyo Xanadu eX+ Video Game.
PS4Blog.net: 8 / 10
Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is a solid action RPG on PlayStation 4 with good gameplay mechanics and a heavy emphasis on its story and setting. It's a meaty adventure with 50+ hours ahead of you, and even longer if you want to aim at getting a new Platinum for your collection. The improvements made over Tokyo Xanadu on PS Vita for this PS4 port make this a better overall game and one that is easy to recommend.
GameSpew: 80 / 100 by Kyle Bradford
While there can be quite a bit of hand-holding, which may turn off more hardcore fans of the genre, Tokyo Xanadu eX+ offers a great respite from other, bigger holiday releases. If you've got some time this holiday to sit down with a meaty JRPG, this one might just be the one for you.
God is a Geek: 9 / 10 by Mikhail Madnani
Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is the definitive version of one of my favourite games of the year and a fantastic overall package for JRPG fans
