In 1953, the famous physicist Lawrence Talbot disappears from public life. Torn is set 64 years later in his estate, which houses the scientist's forgotten laboratory and the results of his work. You play as a woman, who accidentally finds herself in Talbot's house. It turns out that Talbot is alive, but he turned into a floating ball of light. Moreover, he can't much of his past, so you have to help him and yourself.
Torn is an adventure game with logic puzzle elements, developed for VR headgear. The gameplay consists of exploring the estate and solving various problems. The puzzles mostly entail moving objects around with a special device. It allows you to move very heavy objects (e.g. a piano), but you use it mainly to activate Talbot's inventions, such as by e.g. plugging cables into sockets.
The technical layer of the game is well-crafted. The estate is very detailed, and the physics engine allows you to move, throw, and hit objects, enhancing your immersion.
