Total Extreme Wrestling 2008 is the fourth part of the cycle of sports managers focusing on the subject of wrestling. The game was produced by the Grey Dog Software development team led by Adam Ryland, the creator of the Extreme Warfare Revenge series. The player takes over the duties of a professional promoter and tries to enter the world of American stockpiles.
Total Extreme Wrestling 2008 is another game with wrestling in the lead role in the achievements of Adam Ryland and Grey Dog Software studio team. Compared to previous editions of the series, the title introduces a few changes in the way of gameplay and audio-visual setting.
The player again has the opportunity to play the role of a promoter of wrestling battles. His task is to develop a small company into one of the tycoons in the world of professional wrestling. This requires the employment and training of players, negotiation of television broadcasting conditions, the establishment of combat scenarios and a range of other managerial activities.
As befits a classic sports manager, the gameplay is based primarily on the text layer. Each player is described by a series of statistics, which change during the game. Choosing from among the many available options, the player decides about training, image of individual wrestlers, participation in competitions, wars with competitive promoters, etc. The player can choose from a wide range of options.
Compared to earlier editions of the Total Extreme Wrestling 2008 series, the creators of Total Extreme Wrestling 2008 increased the scope of their actions, as well as simplified the way they use the player editor. This makes it easier for players to adapt the game to their own preferences and to introduce their idols to the game.
Graphic design of the game has been slightly improved. Once again, the background colour of the menu windows has been changed (an element distinguishing individual parts of the series). The players' images also look more realistic.
