Another installment in a series of sports games regarding one of the most important cycling events in the world. It was developed by the Cyanide studio. Similar to the previous installments, the game was released in two different versions - one for PCs and the other for consoles. Pro Cycling Manager 2016 for PC is a typical manager game, which does not give direct control over bikers to the player.
Tour de 2016 for PS4 and XONE is a cycling-themed racing game. It was developed by Cyanide - a French studio that created all the previous installments as well.
As the title suggests, the game focuses on the legendary Tour de race, which is one of the most important cycling events in the world. However, the game includes other competitions as well. Tour de 2016 is based on the official licenses, thus the players received in-game representations of real-existing tracks, as well as authentic teams and bikers that appeared in the season 2016.
In Tour de 2016 for PS4 and XONE, the player takes on the role of a single cyclist, who competes in 21 stages of Tour de , but also in other popular races, such as the three-days-long Critérium International or Critérium du Dauphiné, which lasts for a week. Gameplay is arcady here and gives direct control over the biker to the player. Also, the player has to apply adequate tactics during the race, for instance, choosing when is it best to attack the opponents' positions or how to distribute the rider's powers throughout the entire stage.
The game allows for single-player competition against AI-controlled opponents, rivalry among other players, as well as cooperation on one, shared screen. The creators offer many improvements in contrast to the previous installment. The challenge mode is available in the multiplayer now; the single-player Pro Team mode (building a team over several seasons) was enriched with a system of interacting with the sponsors.
In Tour de 2016 for PS4 and XONE, virtually all the elements of the previous installment were improved. The effect of realism, graphics and interface were all improved. The creators added new sceneries and remodeled the AI, which makes the virtual cyclists react more naturally to what happens during the race.
