A sports game in which we take control of the high-performance BMX and perform various tricks. Noteworthy are the exceptionally diverse maps on which competitions are organized. The game has a multiplayer for two people.
Toxic Grind resembles the cult Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series in many ways. We are dealing here with a title on sports subjects, in which the performance of more or less spectacular tricks or air acrobatics plays an important role. Many times these actions have nothing to do with realism. The main difference is that instead of a skateboard we use a high-performance BMX. The game described above reproduces the patterns that have already appeared in the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX and Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX titles. Toxic Grind is produced by Blue Shift development studio, known mainly for sports games (mainly baseball). This item was created exclusively for Microsoft console owners.
In contrast to many other competitive positions, this arcade game can boast a full-fledged storyline. It is worth mentioning, however, that in the course of a proper game this element definitely goes into the background. We move into the distant future (2097) and enter the crazy BMX tournament. The game in this respect seems to resemble the cult film "Running Man". The losers must take into the possibility of losing their lives. As you can easily guess, the player's task will be to beat the next segments of the tournament and win the main prize.
Toxic Grind offers a relatively wide range of available gameplay modes. There are four basic types of tournaments at the player's disposal. The key point of the program is, of course, a fully-fledged tournament, in which we have fourteen extended levels to overcome. The boards are varied (forest, ship deck, colosseum, etc.) and abound in many hills and other elements that can be used for tricks. The player has to avoid many obstacles at the same time - various machine guns, or balls, with which he or she can lose his or her life.
Just like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series games, there are many different challenges to solve. They usually require the collection of several items of the same type, or specific combinations of tricks. In addition to the tournament, you can also enter Arcade competitions and duel with live players. In the latter case, the clashes are played on a split screen. Toxic Grind visual luminaire looks relatively weak. It is only worth paying attention to large boards, on which you can move freely during the game.
