Time on Frog Island (originally Trading Time: A Croak Tale) is an adventure game, in which we try to leave a picturesque, but at the same time quite peculiar island. It was developed by an independent Danish studio Half Past Yellow and published by Merge Games.

Plot

In Time on Frog Island we play as a traveler, who' s sailing on the open sea ended up with an encounter with a powerful storm. His small boat was completely destroyed and he himself was thrown onto the shore of a nearby island. Soon after waking up, our protagonist discovers that the place is inhabited by anthropomorphic frogs. In order to return home, he has to get parts and materials needed to repair the boat and help the locals with their problems.

Game mechanics

In Time on Frog Island we observe the action from the top-down view. Game gives us an open world, which we can freely explore. While exploring the island, we meet its inhabitants and perform various tasks for them.

In exchange for help, frogs share various items with the hero. Among them we can find parts and resources necessary to repair the boat, items that can be exchanged for more desired by us (or by someone else) things or finally elements of equipment broadening the protagonist's range of possibilities or providing him with new skills. Thanks to this our traveller can get to places inaccessible earlier and solve increasingly complicated puzzles.

In addition, the game allows us to catch fish or cultivate the land; ingredients obtained in this way are used to prepare various brews.
