Multiplayer-oriented, third-person action game which is a network sequel to the bestseller Sleeping Dogs. The same development studio, United Front Games, is responsible for the creation of the game. Unlike the original, in the game we don't play the role of a law enforcement officer, but a member of the Triad, and our task is to recruit a gang and build our own criminal empire.

Triad Wars is a multiplayer-oriented third-person action game, described as the online successor to such titles as True Crime series or Sleeping Dogs released in 2012. The production is the result of cooperation between Square Enix and the United Front Games studio, which is responsible for the latter's considerable commercial success.

Plot

The action of Triad Wars takes place in the universe known from the aforementioned Sleeping Dogs - on the streets of Hong Kong, ruled by mafia families. This time, however, we don't play as an undercover law enforcer, but as a real member of one of the three triads. Our task is to recruit a gang and build an influential criminal empire. The way to achieve this goal isn't easy and will require the player to explore the open world and complete story missions related to money laundering, smuggling, theft, extortion and other illegal activities.

Mechanics

The dangerous city often gives us an excuse to use perfectly mastered martial arts, as well as a wide range of firearms. There will also be spectacular chases in stolen luxury cars. An important element of the game is the strategic aspect, in which we deal with managing our gang - recruiting and arming individual team and expanding our headquarters. Since the gangs belonging to different players compete on one server, the developers have also implemented the possibility of PvP duels, the aim of which is to take over the areas controlled by other players.

Technical aspects

According to the developers, Triad Wars will use proven ideas from previous games of the series, enriching them with completely new solutions, which couldn't be implemented in Sleeping Dogs. Thanks to the graphical engine used, the graphics stand on a decent level. The streets of Hong Kong live their own lives, and the city gradually changes depending on the decisions and actions of players. The whole is maintained in the specific atmosphere of Asian action films, especially those directed by John Woo.
