Tron 2.0 is a first person perspective adventure game (FPP), produced by Monolith Productions studio. The plot of the title continues the plot of the film Tron (1982). The player directs the actions of Jet Bradley, who in the cybernetic world is looking for his father - Alan. The game combines elements of shooting and racing, as well as logical puzzles.
Tron 2.0 is a first-person action game and a sequel to the cult motion picture Tron from 1982. The action takes place 21 years after the events known from the film. The player assumes the role of Jet Bradley, a young and incredibly talented programmer, who sets out to the cybernetic world with the task of finding his father, Alan Bradley, the creator of the Tron program. At some point, Jet learns that someone is trying to use the technology his father created (human digitalization, meaning: transferring a real world human being to the cyberspace) in order to take over the global computer network, which equals world dominance. Jet decides to thwart this plans. Whether he succeeds, or not, is only up to the player.
In the single player mode, Tron 2.0 offers enthralling and dynamic story that ensures about 30 hours of gameplay. We will visit various digital locations, including lab servers, a personal computer, router, outdated central computer, network hub, firewall and so on. In all of those places, we will have to face various programs and digitalized humans. The gameplay is divided between two main segments: virtual combat and puzzles.
One of the most important elements is a unique disc that the protagonist carries. We can throw it at our opponents, control its flight trajectory, detonate it at will (after which it reappears in our hand), and so on. The distinctive light cycle duels (a famous scene in the original motion picture) are also prominently featured. Tron 2.0 was developed by Monolith Productions and is powered by an enhanced version of the Jupiter engine (employed i.e. in NOLF 2) called LithTech Triton.
