Release Date: June 30, 1993
Continuation of Avatar's adventures in the underground world of Britanni, in which we wander around different worlds in search of the magical stone controlling the black dome created by the Guardian over Lord British Castle.
Labyrinth of Worlds is the second part of Avatar’s adventures in the underworld of Britannia, powered by an enhanced version of Looking Glass Technology engine. The action takes place a year after the events of Ultima VII: The Black Gate but it is significantly more expansive compared to its predecessor, both in story as well as world size.
Once the evil Guardian had been defeated, Lord British organized loud celebrations, inviting Avatar and his friends. However, during the event, Guardian strikes back, covering the royal castle with a dome of magical black stone that absorbs all magic. There is another stone of this kind in the dungeons of the castle, though. It serves as a gate to other worlds controlled by the Guardian.
In order to break the Guardian’s spell and save Lord British as well as the entire Britannia, we have to enter the dark dungeons and move into other worlds. Each of these is completely different and inhabited by various creatures, both hostile and neutral. The non-linear story allows the players to explore the aforementioned worlds in any order. We will have to perform many missions and solve numerous complex puzzles.
