The second full installment in a series of urban fantasy fighting games co-developed by Arc System Works. Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes introduces new characters and brand-new mechanics (Creeping Edge and Celestial Vorpal).
Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes is the second installment in a series of fighting games originating from 2014. The game was co-developed by the creators of the first game (and its updated versions), the Japanese studio French Bread, as well as Arc System Works known for BlazBlue.
Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes continues and concludes the plotlines from the first game. The game is set in an alternate Japan, under attack by horrifying monsters known as Voids. Anyone who survives an encounter with a Void gains supernatural abilities, receiving the nickname In-Birth. These characters must engage each other in fierce duels.
Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes is a typical fighting game focusing on arena combat. The available playable characters all differ in of playstyle and fighting style.
There are some newcomers, such as Tsurugi, Kaguya and Kuon, while the returning characters have gained brand new moves. There are also two new mechanics - Creeping Edge, letting us approach an enemy while dodging, as well as Celestial Vorpal, a stronger version of the Vorpal super mode from the first game.
Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes s singleplayer, as well as local and online multiplayer. There's a special training mode for newcomers, letting them get familiar with the combat system and characters. The game also features a gallery where we can view illustrations and in-game art.
Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes makes use of a cartoonish artstyle.
