Undercover: Operation Wintersun Austrian studio Sproing Interactive is an adventure game realized in a classic style with the use of point&click interface. The authors used the popular "what would have been if" scheme, placing their history in the times of the Second World War. The assumption was to stick as faithfully as possible to historical realities, but we are dealing with a certain modification of facts known from the past. These procedures are aimed at making the game more attractive.

In the game we play the role of the famous physicist John Russell. Our hero, recruited by the British MI6 intelligence service, is in Nazi with a spy mission. Its task is to discover what kind of weapon the Nazis are working on, desperately looking for a way to tip the scales of victory on their side. John was elected to this mission because of his expertise in nuclear technology, but he is not a professional spy. Therefore, while performing the task he needs the help of more qualified people in the craft of a secret agent.

Interaction and cooperation with the characters are very important elements of the game. Each of the characters has their own plans, different characters and motivation to act. The player's task is to chew individual persons, both partners and opponents. The intrigue is so constructed that many surprises await us.

The main character is not the character we like from the beginning. His nature as a scientist does not allow him to see the effects of the work of scientists, which are felt by ordinary people. Only with the duration of the game John realizes how much evil and human suffering can be caused by being blinded by scientific work. Russel's character changes with the progress of the game, which is visible in his reflexes and behaviour, among other things. The title touches upon a rather serious subject matter, but despite this, we find in it also a bit of humour that relieves the tension.

Fulfilling our mission we visit many places, the fate will take us to London, Berlin and a small German town, among others. In each location we will find many interactive elements. Most of the puzzles encountered consist in a skillful combination of different elements, but there are a few exceptions to the rule. Game developers pay special attention to the fact that all mini games should match the atmosphere of the game and not be something added by force. Among these additional activities there is no lack of basis for spy's activities - creeping.
