War of the Roses

War of the Roses is a dynamic action game that focuses on multiplayer gameplay. It was developed by the creators of the Europa Universalis series. The game allows us to take part in five historic battles of the eponymous War of the Roses, a bloody civil war that took place in the 15th century England. We may side with either Lancasters or Yorks.

The game puts an emphasis on melee combat and tries to recreate the dynamics of online shooters in medieval style. Before we start, we create a character. As we progress and win battles, we get access to better weapons and also improve our skills, which lets us increase our abilities in a specialization of our choosing.

War of the Roses is faithful to the historical realities of the presented period. Fatshark and Paradox Interactive made sure that both weapons and locations correspond to what we can find in scientific publications.
