Mechanics

In We are Legion: Rome we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). The core of the gameplay are large-scale battles, which take place in cities, forests or on vast plains. During them we are given a variety of objectives to complete, so it comes to slaughtering hordes of enemies, flanking enemy armies, defending strategic points or operating siege machines. Battles are dynamic and brutal (decapitations and chopping off limbs are a regular feature), with dexterity and reflexes playing a key role.

Over time, however, blindly following orders and effectively eliminating enemies is no longer enough to succeed. With promotions in the military hierarchy come new responsibilities. Once we manage to lead the legion, it will be necessary to show a strategic sense, skillfully give orders to our subordinates and develop appropriate tactics based on the situation on the battlefield.

With military ranks the combat potential of the character also increases. The development of the hero, the skills he possesses and the weapons he uses will determine the type of cohort he decides to . While defensive troops use shields and short swords, soldiers who are trained for offensive actions rely mainly on aggression and the strength of their attack and can, among other things, counter-attack and feint.

The time between bloody battles is spent in the camp, where we learn about the storyline and establish relationships with other legionaries. Besides, the protagonist can write letters to his beloved there, reporting on her wartime wandering.

Technical aspects

We are Legion: Rome features attractive graphics. The detail-rich armour and weaponry of the legionaries is particularly pleasing, as are the varied, well-designed locations.
