Release Date: July 8, 2010
White Knight Chronicles 2 is a continuation of the jRPG game released in 2008, which was created under the responsibility of the Level 5 development team. Players have an opportunity to learn more about Leonard's future. This time the hero has to face people who want to take control of the powers of five giant knights and discover the dark secret from 10 thousand years ago.
White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness is a sequel to the well received cRPG game by Level 5. Previously this studio was responsible for such successful productions as Dragon Quest VIII or Dark Cloud.
The game continues the events known from its predecessor. Once again, the most important character is Leonard, who has signed a contract with one of the five giant knights with special powers. The hero is struggling with people who intend to take control of all five warriors, and in the meantime he discovers the secret behind the great war that took place 10,000 years ago. Events take place on a larger scale than in the previous part. Leonard is accompanied by several companions, among them once again there is a character created by us.
The mechanics of the game is similar to the original. When attacking enemies we don't move to a separate battle screen, but instead the battles take place in a place where we meet the enemies visible on the screen. During the confrontation we can move the character, but we choose individual skills from the list of commands. Compared to its predecessor, the number of skills has increased, and some of the skills already known have been properly balanced. During the fight we control only one character, but the rest doesn't stand still at all, it helps us actively. At critical moments we can still benefit from the transformation into a great knight.
The game doesn't squeeze out the seven sweat from PlayStation 3, but it's aesthetically pleasing. Models of characters look particularly poor, but for lovers of exploration this is compensated by large sightseeing locations.
The title also has a few significant advantages - one of the most interesting is the ability to move your character from the first part of the series, along with its equipment. This time the cycle of day and night was also used, as well as the changing seasons of the year, thanks to which the visited locations are much more interesting and their appearance changes dynamically.
