An action game in which we play the role of a hero facing the army of the ominous Medusa. The protagonist must also defend his companion, transformed into a stone - the title witch - which he can revive for a short while, using the blood of his defeated opponents.
Witch and Hero is an action game with old-school visuals inspited by the eight-bit era. The game was developed by an independent studio called FK Digital.
Witch and Hero takes players on a journey into a fantasy world ravaged by the evil Medusa and her army of monsters. The main protagonists, i.e. the titular hero and the witch that accompanies him, decide to stop Medusa's destructive drive and set off on a journey to her stronghold. Upon their arrival, however, the protagonists lose; as if that wasn't enough, the witch is turned into a stone. Nonetheless, even this cannot stop our heros from carrying out the task that lies on their shoulders.
In Witch and Hero the action is shown from the top-down perspective. Players are tasked with completing twenty levels; each of them involves eliminating hordes of enemies and obtaining their blood. The latter allows for a short moment to revive the witch, which immediately provides the hero with her - she attacks enemies with the help of destructive magic.
Although Witch and Hero was developed for solo mode, the Nintendo Switch version allows players to enjoy the company of a second player in a local cooperative mode.
Witch and Hero has simple, 2D visuals made in pixel art technique. The retro style is complemented by an ear-catching, chiptune soundtrack.
