Another sport game devoted to wrestlers' struggles within the popular World Wrestling Entertainment organization. Choose one of the licensed players or create your own using the extensive character editor functions and chase fame and money. Compared to the previous part, the list of available modes has been extended, control has been modified and rivals' artificial intelligence has been improved.
WWE Raw 2 is another of the numerous productions dedicated to the struggle of wrestlers, not without reason called modern gladiators. For lovers of this sport a number of attractions have been prepared, significantly expanding the first part published eighteen months earlier. Among the novelties there were also additional modes of fun and changes in the previous ones. The creators also decided to focus on eliminating the problems reported by players in the form of, among others, weak artificial intelligence of virtual players.
There is a large pool of licensed wrestlers, including The Rock and Ray Misterio. With the addition of an extensive character editor nothing stands in the way of creating your own player deciding not only on his appearance and outfit, but also on the available blows, character features and the way of entering the ring.
The biggest novelty is the Season mode. We take part in the whole series of events in order to receive an invitation to the season's closing gala of Wrestlemania. Each month we participate in three programmes: Raw, SmackDown! and an event transmitted in the pay-per-view system. Due to the fact that we have to take care of the athlete's condition, from time to time we decide not to appear in the event in order to regain strength. We don't always manage to do this, because a rival can enter the locker room and attack us. The player also has a chance to interfere with opponents' plans through the use of unclean games. Available battle modes include: hardcore, cage, ladder, table, street fight, TLC, battle royale and hell in a cell.
The control during the clashes has been modified. The blocking function has been abandoned, but limited to the possibility of avoidance or collision. The directional pad is used for normal movement in the arena, and we run by tilting the left analog knob. As more blows are inflicted, the tension bar is charged. After filling it in, we get a chance to bring out an effective finishing blow.
Both the arenas where the clashes take place, as well as the wrestlers themselves, have been faithfully transferred to the TV screens. Competitors, especially those with a long tradition in the WWE series of events, present themselves in great detail. During breaks between battles we observe numerous interrupts on the engine of the game, but the characters do not say anything in them.
