X-Plane 5 is the fifth installment of a series of realistic flight simulations, developed by Laminar Research since the mid-1990s. Players have the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of many modern military and civil aircraft, but also gliders, helicopters and even space shuttles. The creators took care of realistic impressions related to the physics of flight and the influence of atmospheric conditions.

Rain, snow and clouds are available for an instrument flying challenge, and thermals are available for the gliders! Real weather conditions can be ed from the internet, allowing you to fly in the actual weather that currently exists!
X-Plane also has detailed failure-modeling, with 35 systems that can be failed manually or randomly, when you least expect it! You can fail instruments, engines, flight controls, and landing gear at any moment.
