A special version of the 2015 action game from SEGA, enhanced with new content. The main new feature in Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is the multiplayer mode called Red Light Raid, designed for up to 4 players. The new version also contains previously unseen cut-scenes and an English dubbing.
Yakuza Zero Director's Cut is a new version of the 2015 third-person action game, enriched with new content. Similar to the original, as well as previous parts of the series and a number of its spin-offs, the game was created by the SEGA corporation.
Yakuza 0 Director's Cut stands out from its original mainly due to the new game mode. We are talking about the Red Light Raid multiplayer mode, designed for up to four players. It features dozens of characters waiting to be unlocked. In addition, the developers enriched this version with completely new cut-scenes. The icing on the cake is the optional English dubbing.
In of plot, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut serves as a unique prequel to the entire series. Its action takes us back to 1988, showing the events that took place seven years before the incidents described in the first game. The protagonists of the game are: 20-year-old member of the Tojo clan named Kazuma Kiryu, and 24-year-old businessman named Majima Goro. They both represent a completely new type of hero for the series.
Kiryu is an inexperienced young man who, dealing with the recovery of unpaid debts, is taking his first steps in the Tokyo underworld. Majima is looking for an opportunity to return to the criminal underworld under the guise of running a legitimate business. We take turns playing them, as the fate of the heroes intertwine during the clan battles for control over one of the city's districts.
The gameplay mechanics in Yakuza 0 Director's Cut do not significantly deviate from the atmosphere of the previous parts of the series and are largely based on the model known from the Grand Theft Auto. For the purposes of the Yakuza series, it was however enriched with an elaborate combat system and the specific atmosphere of Japan. There are both calmer segments, requiring quiet and thoughtful action, as well as dynamic shootouts and fighting sequences using various Eastern fighting styles.
The game mainly involves exploring the various alleys of the city, talking to the characters we meet, and carrying out a series of diverse storyline missions. The open world of the game is also full of sandbox elements and additional activities and mini-games, which our heroes can take advantage of. The whole thing was adorned with a atmospheric, yet colorful graphic design, reminiscent of the best-selling Sleeping Dogs and earlier installments of the series.
