Zoria: Age of Shattering

Mechanics

Our primary objective is to recruit and manage a four-person party, leading them to battle against the monsters roaming Zoria. Turn-based combat is the game's primary mechanic. All characters have unique abilities, many different attacks (dealing either immediate or over time damage), some can defend their allies or heal them. The player can also set up new situations in battle and use the terrain to their advantage.

While exploring, we must pay attention to our party's fatigue and equipment. Campfires let us safely resupply and prepare for the next battle. The characters' abilities can also be upgraded, making combat easier and unlocking new areas and quests. Interacting with various objects can also make traversal easier, as well as reveal hidden treasures.

Expanding our base also plays an important role, as it consists of various upgradable objects. Upgrading buildings rewards us with new resources, items and quests. Within the base, we can also plan out independent missions and assign them to our party . We don't participate in those expeditions, but we do get the items collected and some of the experience gained by the character.

Technical aspects

The game features 3D visuals, a cold color palette and a gothic fantasy artstyle. The 3D models and 2D equipment are all very detailed and appealing.
