Action RPG set in Warhammer universe reportedly scrapped. Game was supposed to be in development for more than 2 years
An unannounced game set in the Warhammer universe has reportedly been canceled by Games Workshop. Thought Pennies studio was to be responsible for the project.

Reports have appeared online that Warhammer fans will definitely not appreciate. According to news from MP1st, Games Workshop (the brand owner) has canceled an unannounced game set in this fantasy universe.
The studio Thought Pennies, founded five years ago, was supposed to be responsible for that project. According to a LinkedIn post by the company's creative director, Daniel Erickson, work has been ongoing since at least 2022, and everything proceeded as planned. However, in November 2024, the publisher supposedly decided to change the "strategic direction," which led the studio to lose funding and abandon the project.
As a result, the company laid off a group of employees who had previously boasted about their involvement in creating Warhammer titles on LinkedIn. The project was described as a third-person action RPG focused on cooperation and PvE, which was to be developed on Unreal Engine 5. Below you can watch some sample posts from developers.
Let's remind that Warhammer's sister universe, Warhammer 40,000, recently received the excellent Total War: Warhammer 3 for now.
