Analysts: SSD Prices Will Drop Later This Year
If TrendForce's analyses come true, SSDs and RAM will get cheaper this year. Further drops are expected to come early next year.

SSDs could soon become significantly cheaper. Market analyst company TrendForce published a report that says prices for SSDs and RAM are expected to drop by 10% later this quarter.
TrendForce analysts predict that prices will drop by a further 15% in the first quarter of 2021, due to oversupply. In addition, manufacturers will want to sell off what is left in their warehouses as soon as possible.
The market has felt reduced interest in SSDs from corporate customers. The US ban of Huawei has also added its two cents to the market, significantly reducing the possibility of buying RAM for Chinese manufacturers' devices. This, in turn, resulted in an immediate increase in unsold products for the RAM manufacturers.
Already a few weeks ago, information appeared that price drops are in the pipeline. Due to the launch of next-gen consoles, which are equipped with relatively little built-in storage, NVMe drives will enjoy growing interest from gamers. Therefore, any information about a potential price reduction of SSDs will be welcomed.
