Baldur's Gate 3 Retains Player Interest Better Than Competition
Baldur's Gate 3 is an exceptional game. Another example of this has been how well it is doing in keeping activity scores high, despite the fact that it has been almost four weeks since its release.

Release of a gigantic success. The day after tomorrow it will be four weeks since this title left early access. On Reddit fans have pointed out the fact that the game continues to record very high activity scores, even compared to other big hits in the same period after release.
- Yesterday's activity record was 539,576 concurrent s. This is only 38% less than the all-time record for the game, set on August 3.
- Using SteamDB, it is possible to compare the rate of decline in activity. For the comparison, we selected Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077 and Fallout 4. This is because these are very popular paid games aimed exclusively or mostly at single-player mode.

- Looking at the chart of the first 24 days, it is clear that for most of these games the activity scores dropped quite quickly. Only Elden Ring kept them at a level comparable to Baldur's Gate 3.
- All of these games are colossals that require tons of time to complete, so it's no special surprise that they generally maintained high activity scores for the first month. However, it is clear that Baldur's Gate 3 is - like the earlier Elden Ring - an exceptional game even for other similar hits, and is able to maintain player interest for a particularly long time. Of course, both games were also helped by the multiplayer mode (which is absent in Hogwarts Legacy, 2077 and FO4), but it cannot be said that it is the main attraction of these games.
Recall that version 1.0 of Baldur's Gate 3 debuted on PC on August 3. The PlayStation 5 version will be released on September 6. The developers are also working on an edition for the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, to be released later this year.
