Caves of Qud creator gives advice on how to survive in this RPG with huge, living world
The developers of Caves of Qud have given advice to rookies on how to get started in this praised roguelike.

Two weeks ago, version 1.0 of Caves of Qud was released, a cult hybrid of RPG and roguelike, whose action takes place in a post-apocalyptic, randomly generated world. The launch was a huge success and the game is receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews – on Steam, 95% of reviews from the last 30 days praise it. However, many novices are hesitant to purchase this game due to its high level of difficulty. That's why the game's developers gave some advice to newbies in a conversation with fans on Reddit.
- Caves of Qud is famous for its insane level of complexity. The player can control virtually any creature in the game world and do whatever they please. Therefore, the devs' advice may be a bit of a surprise. The developers suggest creating a warrior with high durability and equipping him with a greatsword, then promptly enhancing his armor level to boost survival chances.
- Such an approach makes sense because it allows you to have fun in Caves of Qud, even when you have no idea about the game. In this way, we can calmly learn the rich mechanics and intentionally tangled structure of the world, while having a good time. Only when we gain the appropriate knowledge, is it worth trying to play with more unusual characters.
Caves of Qud is available only on PC. The game can be purchased on Steam for $29.99 and on GOG.com for $29.86. The second price is reduced due to an ongoing sale for the launch of version 1.0. The offer will remain valid until January 3 next year.
