SPINA studio is working on Phase Zero, a survival horror game referencing classics of the genre from the first-generation PlayStation era.
Do you miss the atmosphere of the first survival horror games? If so, you should be interested in the recently announced game Phase Zero.
- This is the debut project of the Polish studio SPINA, founded by veterans of such teams as CD Projekt RED and Techland. The SUPERHOT Presents team will help with the release.
- The game is currently heading exclusively for PC and will be sold on Steam. However, the developers also plan to release versions for other platforms.
- At the moment, the devs aren't ready to announce the planned release date. However, a demo is soon to be released.
The creators are inspired by survival horror games from the 1990s. That's why Phase Zero will offer pre-rendered backgrounds and three-dimensional character models covered with pixelated textures reminiscent of those from the original PlayStation. The old-school style is to be combined with gameplay improvements typical for more modern titles.
The action of Phase Zero will be set in 1994 in the American town of Flint Peak. There, a mysterious plague transforms people into mutated monsters and slowly covers subsequent structures with pulsating muscle tissue. We will follow the two survivors - reporter Mary and an engineer named Guy, who will try to survive and escape from the city.
The game will focus on the classic gameplay for this genre. Players will have to manage their ammunition and carefully search locations.
The game's Steam page has already listed the system requirements, but currently only the minimum ones.

The following configurations will allow for gameplay at 30 fps in 720p resolution on low settings.
