Confused about Mandala in The Bazaar? It's simpler than you expect

The new Mandala event in The Bazaar is quite vaguely described in the patchnotes. If you are looking for more detailed info, you're in the right place.

Releasing free to play games is a risky business. On the one hand the developers have to balance income, and on the other fair monetization that won’t discourage players. If the harmony is broken, sooner or later a title like that will go down the drain. Such scenario was threatening otherwise successful production supervised by Reynad – The Bazaar. The Open Beta season was promising, but many fans despised the proposed way of how the Prize worked. This, however, seems to have been addressed and rebuilt, and now offers a lot fairer way of obtaining item packs in the game. This is not the only recent change, though, as among other things (like a new playable hero – Mak), the new season introduces a mysterious encounter with an entity known as Mandala. What does it do? Is it any good? Let’s try to answer those questions.

Mandala in The Bazaar explained

The Bazaar features hundreds of unique items and dozens of encounters that can shift the weight of battles in your favor. It appears that the creators from Tempo Storm do not slow down with punching out more of those and provide steady flow of new content to their game. There is, however, one new event added in 1.0 version of this title that is not very well explained – Mandala.

In the patch notes, Mandala is described as “An encounter that transforms your items into different ones”, while the event itself is said to “Transform your items into something new.”. This doesn’t tell much on its own, but it seems that Mandala simply changes one of the items that you choose and transforms it into a different one maintaining its rarity, size, and enchantment (if possible, as some items do not all the enchantment types).

This encounter can come in handy when you have an enchanted item (especially from the start of the game or obtained via random enchantment events), yet the enchantment effects are not working very well with it. The fact that the enchantment doesn’t complement the item that you have doesn’t mean that it won’t be great with different ones. This way you can reroll not the enchantment itself, but the item it’s used on. It’s a gamble nonetheless, but still worth trying before selling the stuff. Otherwise, it will probably be a better idea to pick a different encounter.

We cannot forget about the new hero, though, Mak. Some of his items, reagents, add special effects to transformations. This is one of his core mechanics that can give you an edge in the battle.

We also have to keep in mind that a lot of adjustments and new content introduced in fresh seasons are subject to change, especially when more players start testing out and experimenting with them. Be sure to always check the latest patch notes to if something hasn’t been reworked. Have fun!
