DDR4 RAM Prices to Increase Even Further, Followed by GPU Memory Prices
GPUs have probably never been this expensive. Could it get any worse? Absolutely. Expected price increases for DRAM modules may be higher than expected, making DDR4 and DDR3 RAM more expensive as well.

- RAM prices may increase by up to 28% in the second quarter of 2021.
Unfortunately, the bag with bad news about PC component prices seems to have no bottom. Recent predictions of the increase in memory prices are probably already outdated. As reported by the analytical company TrendForce, the hikes may be much bigger than predicted. We will have to pay 23-28% more for DRAM memory dice in the second quarter of 2021 than in the previous three months. Since it is a component of many computing devices, therefore, not only the prices of DDR4 RAM will increase, but also GPUs and mobile devices. Hikes will also affect server memory, but here they should be less severe (an increase of 20-25%).

Possible reasons for such market processes are generally cited as increased demand for DDR4 memory, as well as GDDR5 and GDDR6 used in GPUs. Increased production of notebook PCs will also have a large impact, resulting in increased demand for DRAM modules. This can be linked to the slow pace of vaccination for Covid-19. The still existing, considerable threat of pandemic and the continuation of remote work results in a constant, increased demand for mobile computers.
