IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. Andrew Wilson is calm about BioWare's future, despite poorly received games and key developers leaving;
  2. Employee turnover is normal in this industry, he said.

During EA's quarterly investor call, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson said he was confident in BioWare's future, despite its recent problems (via PC Gamer).

"[BioWare] is an incredible studio filled with incredible people who do incredible work. And I think that from the outside wall, there have been some blips in their delivery over the last couple of years, but that has come as a result of them pushing deeply into innovation and creativity. And we feel very, very confident about their future road map, and we've talked about games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect in their future," said Wilson.

The Canadian company, responsible for creating the legendary RPG series Anthem. To make matters worse, several well-known developers have left the studio, including Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah (and, before that, Fernando Melo, Drew Karpyshyn and Ben Irving). Andrew Wilson believes that this is the natural order of things.

"With respect to Casey and Mark leaving, again, both good friends of mine. We have tremendous respect for both of them. But this happens in the natural course of creative organizations from time to time. And we feel very, very good about the ongoing leadership of that studio and the many people who come to work every day to deliver great innovation and creativity," added EA's boss.

BioWare's next projects will be Dragon Age: Inquisition - the release date is unknown for now).
