Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, and 120 FPS confirmed for Switch 2. Not even that historical freeze could curb my enthusiasm during today’s Nintendo Direct

Switch 2 is way more powerful than we expected. Games like Final Fantasy VII Remake are finally making their way to Nintendo’s console.

Yeah, that was a lot! At first, I thought they were just going to announce a few games and focus mostly on Switch 2, its release date, features, price, and preorders (which, btw, start on April 8). But nope, it ended up being a full hour of surprises, and I’m still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor. We finally know what the C button is for, but now it’s time to dive into all the new possibilities Switch 2 is bringing for Nintendo that no one really saw coming.

So, Switch 2 is actually a beast?

Let’s be real. When we joked about predicting maybe 60 FPS on select Nintendo games at best, but now? Yeah… I feel kinda foolish. And, well, a little ashamed.

So here we are, Nintendo Switch 2 will come with 256GB of internal storage (that’s 8 times more than the original Switch), and when docked, it’ll up to 4K resolution for compatible games. On top of that, Nintendo claims the screen can handle up to 120 FPS, so the specs must be pretty solid all the new and ported games they just announced.

I’m really curious to see how this (not-so-little anymore) handheld will actually perform once we get our hands on it. From the looks of it, playing the more demanding games might be best in TV mode, especially since the dock has a built-in fan for extra cooling. And honestly, if those big titles look as good as they do in the trailers (yeah, you can spot some downgrades, but still, pretty impressive) they’re probably gonna push this thing to its limits.

Been with gamepressure.androidapks.biz since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or iring my collection of retro consoles.
