Frontier Developments has just announced that the Elite: Dangerous has been made available free of charge to all owners of the base game on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. After the latest update of the title, it has become an integral part of the base game and no longer requires a separate installation.

The Elite: Dangerous Horizons pack, which originally debuted in 2015, consists of a total of five DLCs introducing a number of new features to the base game. The biggest one is the ability to land on 1:1 scale planets and explore them with a special ground vehicle, SRV Scarab.

In addition, the pack offers a new mission system, further items to craft, short range fighters and extensive multiplayer options, enabling us to invite other players to the bridge of our ship. The developers point out that those who previously purchased Horizons have received a special painting scheme called Azure, which is compatible with all spaceships in the game, as compensation.

Finally, it should be reminded that next year Elite fans Star Citizen. It will enable us to leave the cockpit of the ship and explore the planets on foot. On their surface we'll also see locations inhabited by NPCs.
