Fan-made Star Wars: Battlefront III remake to hit Steam
Galaxy in Turmoil is a fan-made remake of the canceled Star Wars: Battlefront III. Its creators, Frontwire Studios, have announced the game will make it to Steam.
Although the game was canceled, Star Wars: Battlefront III’s legacy lives on. A team of modders who formed their own studio, Frontwire Studios, are preparing their own version of the project by now non-existent Free Radical Design studio. Entitled Galaxy in Turmoil, the fan-made Star Wars: Battlefront III remake, is going to be distributed via Steam for free, Frontwire announced. With the green light from Valve Software, the creators aren’t expecting to face any legal problems from Disney, the owner of the Star Wars IP.

Galaxy in Turmoil has made a long way from a CryEngine mod to what it is now – a full-fledged game powered by Unreal Engine 4. The creators are promising large-scale (32v32) multiplayer, with ground, air, and space battles across the Clone Wars all the way to the Galactic Civil War. Besides, the game will offer a single player story set in the middle of an intergalactic war.
It is currently unknown when Galaxy in Turmoil will be ready, but its most recent gameplay video features pre-alpha footage. If you want to learn more about the project, head over to its official website.
