FragPunk release delayed on consoles. PS5 and Xbox fans have to wait
Originally FragPunk was supposed to be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S tomorrow. However, there is unfortunate news for console players.
Update #2 [10.04.2025]: We learned the release date of FragPunk on consoles. Game will launch on April 29 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Update [07.03.2025]: Bad Guitar Studio announced in the official FAQ on Steam that they want FragPunk to arrive on consoles within two months. Therefore, the wait will not be excessively long, at least if everything goes as planned.
FragPunk, a free-to-play hero shooter, launches tomorrow. The game was originally scheduled to come to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. However, plans were changed. Developers unexpectedly announced that the console version is delayed.
FragPunk PS5 and Xbox Release Explained
Yesterday, an important message appeared on FragPunk X profile. Bad Guitar Studio has announced that the console release of the game, originally scheduled for March 7, 2025, has been delayed to an unspecified future date. The reason for this decision is "unexpected technical challenges in optimization and adaptation," which makes it impossible for developers to provide gameplay of the same high standards as on PC.
Developers announced that people who have pre-ordered FragPunk will get a refund. Additionally, these console players will receive in-game currency when the game launches. They will also be able to get access to pre-order bonuses if they buy time-limited bundles after the launch.
As you might expect, many players are angry at Bad Guitar Studio. Delaying the release a few days before planned premiere is disappointing for those who have already paid and hoped to enjoy the game at the end of the week.
Sadly, all we can do is to wait for the future announcements to know the next release date of FragPunk. This is especially challenging because the length of the delay is currently unknown.
