“How could you do something so fun and be so miserable.” Tom Hardy hated making this movie and has no intention of starring in a similar one

One film was enough for Tom Hardy to realize that a certain genre was not for him. After appearing in it, he declared that he would not act in such a production again.

Tom Hardy has tried his hand at various productions, so that now he is able to say with full confidence that one genre is not for him and he does not intend to appear in this kind of production again.

He said that about romantic comedies. Hardy, who takes his work seriously, decided to appear in the not so serious production This Means War alongside Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon. And after starring in the McG-directed film, he became certain that romantic comedies were not for him, as when shooting it he was “miserable” (via The Indepentent).

I love to do things I hadn't done before. I didn't understand how you could do something which is so much fun and be so miserable doing it. I probably won't do a romantic comedy again, do you know what I mean?

Not everyone has to find their way in every genre. Hardy has proven that he works best in more dramatic productions, especially of the gangster or sci-fi genre. And in recent years, he has been starring in just such films and TV series, avoiding romantic comedies, which he did not like. So it looks like he took seriously his declaration that he “probably won't do a romantic comedy again.”

This Means War is an espionage film in which two CIA agents fall in love with the same woman. Despite the friendship they share, the men decide to compete for her favor using their unique skills.

The romantic comedy starring Tom Hardy has not received a positive reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has only 25% positive reviews from critics and 56% from viewers.
