“It’s something that I’m very ionate about.” Tom Hardy confirms that despite the age of 8 years, Taboo season 2 is still in the works
Taboo fans have shown tremendous patience, having waited 8 years for a sequel. Tom Hardy said that the series will eventually return.
Taboo is a hit series starring Tom Hardy, which was released in 2017. It brings the story of adventurer James Keziah Delaney, who builds his own trading empire in the early 19th century. Two months after its debut in January, the series was renewed for another season, however, we still haven't received one since then.
Eight years have ed, and fans continue to wait for Taboo's return, although some of them have already begun to doubt that the series will yet return. After all, it's been a really long time, and TV shows rarely still return after such a long time. Tom Hardy, however, decided to reassure Taboo fans during an interview with MovieWeb, assuring them that work on new episodes is underway. He also explained the reasons why there has been such a long delay.
So, Taboo is something that's for me and my family and Steven [Knight]. It's something we wanted to take time to do properly. [...] I've been working for the last seven years on Venom, so it had to take a little bit of a backseat, but it's something that I'm very ionate about. So when I have the space properly to commit, I'd revisit it properly. So it's never been something that we didn't want to do. It's a question of when, and doing it properly.
Hardy therefore assures that a return to Taboo is certain. However, he is unable to say when it will take place. It all depends on the schedules of the people involved so that they manage to be fully involved in the project. Hardy is committed to providing viewers with the highest quality product possible, as he is ionate about it.
And for now, for Taboo fans, such information must be enough. They must also be patient, as they may have to wait longer than the eight years they have already waited.
