Tonight, third-party pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 finally go live in the U.S. and Canada. There’s no telling how much demand there will be, or how quickly sellers will run out of stock. Other countries have already had pre-orders available for a few weeks, Mario Kart World. But, after thinking about it, everyone deserves a chance.

Pre-orders are going live at a few different times depending on where you purchase. Keep in mind, tonight is not the night for pre-orders through Nintendo directly, only through third-party sellers such as GameStop and Best Buy. If you’d like to learn how to sign up for pre-orders through Nintendo, and if you meet the requirements, use our guide. For online stores, including Best Buy, Target, and Walmart, the Nintendo Switch 2 will become available at midnight Eastern Time, meaning 11:00 PM Central, 10:00 PM Mountain, and 9:00 PM Pacific. If you decide to go through GameStop, pre-orders will begin at 11:00 AM Eastern, when stores open on the East Coast. Thanks to Wario64 for compiling information on social media.

If pre-orders are going to sell out quickly, the best bet is to make sure you are prepared. Depending on your time zone, be ready tonight. To give yourself the best odds, choose your site of choice and sign up for an . Save your information like payment method and shipping address now while you have time to type it in. Hopefully, when the time comes tonight, all you’ll need to do is click a few buttons to confirm.

If you miss out on pre-orders tonight, set an alarm for GameStop pre-orders tomorrow morning. Otherwise, unless pre-orders don’t fly off the digital shelves, you might have to wait until May 8th, when Nintendo starts sending out invitations to pre-order from them directly. your interest on Nintendo’s site if you haven’t already, but if you haven’t done this yet, chances may not be good. Invitations are planned to go out on a first-come, first-serve basis, and sign ups have been available since April 2nd.

If all else fails, you can always try your luck on launch day. After console shortages back in 2020, Nintendo has reportedly been attempting to provide a larger stock to avoid the same problems and hopefully combat predatory scalping. But it is also possible that fans won’t show up as much for this launch. With how upset many fans are about the price of Mario Kart World, and the recent raising of accessory prices, there’s always the possibility that not as many people decide to pre-order.
