You always want to be smart about how you lay out your rooms if you're aiming to reach Room 46 in Blue Prince. Bedrooms are great for adding those extra steps you’ll need, puzzle rooms give you important currency and can even unlock hidden ages, and other rooms spawn must-have items. But then there’s the Lavatory that kind of seems pointless at first glance.
Normally, Lavatory is a red, dead-end room with nothing going for it – no items, no puzzles, just a waste of space. But here’s the trick: if you’ve got the Sheltered status (which you can get from the Shelter room) that cancels out negative effects, Lavatory suddenly becomes useful. Instead of being empty, it’ll have three items.
So if you’re in need of a key, some gems, or just hoping for a lucky item pull, and Lavatory pops up as an option while you're Sheltered, go for it. You might find exactly what you’re looking for.
Also, entering the Lavatory is a requirement in Dare Mode. If you're planning to take that on, you'll need to figure out how to make the most of it.
