Easter brought not only the official confirmation of the Oblivion remaster. Bethesda Softworks also showcased a new trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages.

The new video (shared on YouTube) isn't very long, yet it shows quite a lot of the game. It gives us further insight into the plot of the new Doom (reminder: The Dark Ages is a prequel to the current sub-series), but it also doesn't spare new gameplay fragments.

It seems like humanity has split, and they've managed to put a "leash" on the Doom Slayer, and now they've unleashed him on the demons like a bomb, with equally destructive results. Especially when Slayer takes into his hands a huge crossbow (or a ballista, as some fans claim) - a local equivalent of the iconic BFG 9000, judging by what the trailer shows.

Besides that, the devs from id Software studio also presented a new look of familiar enemies, including one of the most iconic foes from the Doom bestiary, also in concept arts. We will probably see more demons in the days leading up to the release, which isn't far off.

Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on May 15th on PC, PS5, and XSX/S. You can pre-order the game for: $69.99 (Standard edition) and $99.99 ( edition, including two-day early access).

  1. I played Doom: The Dark Ages and appreciate that it won't be a safe sequel
