Nowadays it is becoming really hard to classify a game clearly since the genres intermingle with each other creating new subgenres. It is like cooking a meal with one main ingredient and then spicing it up by adding interesting and non-obvious seasonings. Adding a touch of randomness in the form of cards is a nice way of boosting replayability. That way, Shiny Shoe studio created Monster Train 2. While it only started its journey with just as enthusiastic reception as its predecessor, it definitely lacks one thing – mobile devices port. Is there a chance that it will become available on Android and iOS? Let’s analyze such a possibility.

Monster Train 2 iOS and Android port explained

Gaming world evolves not only when it comes to ideas and new gameplay mechanics, but also regarding technology. We are no longer bound by super-powerful and extra-expensive PC to have fun with nice graphics. The devices that we keep in our pockets are becoming the future tech that we could only dream of a decade or so ago and see it in science-fiction movies. Due to that, more and more developers decide to port their productions to a lot bigger Android and iOS market. What about Monster Train 2 then? Why it’s not available there?

The previous sentence should probably read “Why it’s not available there yet?”, as everything shows that Shiny Shoe’s new title has a really high chance of eventually making its way onto our pocket computers. The reason why we are quite confident that it will happen is that the previous instalment of the series debuted on iOS back in 2022, and Android version has launched just this month (May 2025) and is off to a good start.

Considering the information above, we have to brace ourselves with patience, as though Monster Train 2 might become a thing on mobile devices, it can still take a while for it to happen. Of course, it all depends on what the developers decide is the best for their title, yet without a doubt community’s voice matters. If you would like to chip in and let the creators know that such conversion of MT2 is important for you, do not hesitate to jump to their official Discord server and make your dream come true faster. It is also valuable information for the studio, as they would be able to assess how much fans are looking for it.

However, there is one more thing to keep in mind. Even when such port happens, you need to know that you will have to make progress independently on all of the platforms, as the game does not cross saves. This means that if you have progressed a lot on PC, for example, you will have to start from scratch when you decide to play on another device, like Nintendo Switch, or iOS, if it eventually happens.

Regardless, it is worth giving MT2 a shot as it is scoring very high on Metacritic, making it one of the best games of 2025. Have fun!
