„We're really sorry.” Unexpected errors in Splitgate 2. Devs inform about Servers issues
Have you waited for Splitgate 2 only to be greeted by unexpected errors? You are not the only one. The developers have an explanation, though, so here you will learn more about what is going on.
Back in 2019, developers from 1047 games gave us Splitgate 2 has just been released in Open Beta, continuing its predecessor’s legacy of free to play production, yet with more beautiful graphics this time. However, the server infrastructure appears to be not prepared to welcome the players in its arenas. Many of us who waited for the game are experiencing “Unexpected Errors” while attempting to , effectively preventing us from playing the title. Let’s see what the dev team has to say about it and when can we expect the situation to stabilize.
Unexpected Errors in Splitgate 2 explained
Update: After 12 hours of server issues, developers published a video with apology on Discord assuring players once again that all purchases and unlocked skins are safe. Sadly, it is impossible to tell when the issue will be fixed permanently. We must give creators some more time.
Just as the previous entry in the series, Splitgate 2 starts in a testing stage. The first title debuted in Steam’s Early Access, while the most recent one rejected this program and is launched in Open Beta. This can be definitely justified, as the servers were not prepared for the influx of players trying to enjoy this new fast-paced shooter. Many of them are met with “Unexpected Error” or other issues while trying to to the game. What is going on and why?
According to information found on Splitgate’s official Discord server, the servers have been intentionally turned off temporarily so that the developers can make some important maintenance in the form of bugfixing and stability improvements. The most recent information is that they are still working on this matter, yet it is unknown how long it will take. In case you would like to stay up do date with dev’s communication, the best way to do so is to check out “announcements” channel on the aforementioned Discord server or following Splitgate’s X .
Additionally, the creators assure that if you have made any purchase in this title, you will receive your goods as soon as possible. They have also itted that there are issues with Twitch Drops, so if you were watching eligible streams and haven’t received any rewards, now you know why. This is also something the team is investigating and promises that you will receive what’s due if you have claimed those items on Twitch.
Obviously, beta stages and other testing periods of any product are designed to catch as many issues as possible, so hiccups are more than expected. Sadly though, it didn’t prevent 1047 games’ production from negatively affecting their review score on Valve’s platform. Let’s hope that at the end of the day, when all the difficulties are overcome, many of those negatives will turn into recommendations and the game will thrive and give joy for countless of hours of unrestricted fun.
